We met up with the whānau and Emily Henderson MP outside Pāremata Aotearoa.
From there we went to Te Papa, we were taken to a private area below Te Papa (via the taonga lift) where we all gathered for karakia as our kōiwi tūpuna were released from quarantine and into the care of Te Papa.
We were very blessed to be guided in this kaupapa by Tā William Te Rangiua Pou Temara and Māori language advocate Paraone Gloyne. After karakia we went for hakari where the Director of Repatriation Te Arikirangi Mamaku-Ironside gave us a full update on the Karanga Aotearoa kaupapa and how our kōiwi tūpuna were stolen by Andreas Reischek - the grave robber…
