This memo provides an overview and update of the Pātaua Awa and the pipi mortality which took place earlier in March 2024.. The Pipi of Pātaua Awa are a taonga for whanau and hapū and we understand the concerns which have been raised by whanau concerning the ongoing wellbeing of the pipi. It was awesome to see the whanaungatanga and kaitiakitanga during this time.
The memo attached provides an overview of the actions which took place during this time as well as the testing and results which have been provided by the Ministry of Primary Industries.
